VTG 1970's Northrop (Grumman) YF-17 YF17 Cobra (F/A-18 Hornet) Mug F-17 :

This is an old boy, almost certain it came out of the NASA / Dryden gift shop in the mid 70's. The YF-17 was in the air a bit around Edwards AFB when I was a young kid. This mug has been around for a while, it's been lost a few times, always found again. Now time to find its' forever home.
Vintage ceramic mug produced during the YF-17 testing years. The YF-17 was competing agains the soon-to-be F-16 for the Air Force's new light weightfighter (LWF). The YF-17 didn't come out on top for the Air Force, but the Navy / Marines adopted it as their new LWF and eventually grew the plane into the slightly larger F/A-18.
Mug is in really great shape. No cracks, chips, or crazing. Have never seen another one over the years.
