Large quarto (10 3/4 inches x 8 inches). 40 pages, most with full color lithographic printing; map of ports of call on inside front cover; last page with list of Canadian Pacific agencies. Stapled. Signed "Holling" on lower left back cover. No markings; slight wear to spine and upper and lower right corners, crease to inside front cover, otherwise excellent condition with bright vibrant colors. A spectacular Art Deco ship and railroad travel brochure highlighting the Around the World Cruise of the Empress of France "To the Gateway Ports of the World" leaving from New York January 14, 1925 and returning May 23, 1925.
To publicize the 1925 trip, which was limited to 475passengers, Canadian Pacific issued this lavish 44-page booklet with dozens ofcolorful illustrations signed “Holling.” This refers toHollingHolling, who was born Holling Clancy in 1900 but changedhis name for “professional reasons.” A native of Michigan, he had worked onGreat Lakes steamships, but graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago in 1923.[link removed by ]

Holling C. Holling. Born inJackson County,Michigan, Holling graduated from theArt Institute ofChicagoin 1923. A number of his early works were firstpublished by P. F. Volland & Co.
