British European Airways – BEA Fleet, set of Four Trade Cards, c1970. This is an interesting group / set of four 3¾” x 3” trade cards showing Aeroplanes that I think date from around 1968-1970 or so. Each shows a British European Airways aircraft on the front and on the back there are diagrams of them and a specification about length / wingspan / capacities etc. Oddly, three show photographs – theViscount 806, Argosy, and Vanguard, while the fourth – the Comet 4B – is artwork. I am not sure of their origin but as far as I can tell there were just these four to collect. I recently bought a few of each and also with them were a stiff black vinyl wallet with four clear plastic pockets to store them in. It has the words The BEA Fleet in gold lettering on the front. I have shown it in my pictures below but please note that this is for reference only – the Wallet is not included and is NOT FOR SALE.

It is a good quality item and the cards are also good quality but I am assuming that they were for children to collect, rather than adults. I am nots sure if they would have been included in flight packs to be picked up on a flight or if they child would be given the Wallet and then have to ask staff for a card or cards. Whatever – I am happy to report that the set of four cards is in perfect clean condition.
