Up for your consideration is thisAllegheny Airlines vintage in-flight service tray with logo. This piecemeasures 10 ⅞" x 8 ⅜", weighs 7 ½ ounces &is in very good condition. Allegheny Airlines wasa regional airline that operated out of Pittsburg, PA, from 1952-1979 withroutes primarily located in Eastern U.S. It was the forerunner of USAir that wassubsequently renamed US Airways, which itself merged with American Airlines. Nice piece of vintagehistory. The way this tray was designed is very ingenious. The willy-nilly patternon the front of the tray actually ‘hides’ the scratches made by the utensilsused on it. The first 6 photos were taken in my kitchen with natural sunlight(not direct). The last 2 pictures were taken during late evening & usingfluorescent lighting & tilting it into the light source. One of theimpressed set of numbers on the back of the tray is 9-60 & may be the manufacturingdate (just my opinion). The tray is slightly warped (doesn’t sit flush on aflat surface).
