1937 Pan American Exposition, Dallas Ceramic Dogs

The following item is from my personal Texas Centennial collection which I am offering for sale for the benefit of a youngster recently orphaned by a drunk driver. The young man’s great-great-grandfather was on the state Texas Centennial Committee. He often helped me with Centennial questions.

Offered for your consideration is this group of three Ceramic Dogs, a souvenir from the 1937 Pan American Exposition, Dallas which held on the same grounds as the Centennial in 1936. The dogs appear to be Boston Terriers, The little knick-knack was made in Japan and measures approximately 2½ x 2¼x ½inches. Good condition but the foil label does show wear. It reads “1937 Greater Texas and Pan American Exposition, June – October, Dallas.”

For what it’s worth, the 1937 Exposition was not nearly as successful as the Centennial thus souvenirs from the Pan American are harder to find.
