This is an original, vintage print of a promotional painting issued by Sikorsky Aircraft to commemorate the aerobatic maneuvers performed by a CH-53A Sea Stallion aircraft on October 23, 1968 over Long Island Sound.
These prints were provided free of charge to employees, suppliers, operators, and other associates of Sikorsky Aircraft.
This particular print is unusual in that it shows the aircraft performing an authorized but outside-the-envelope maneuver. There are many similar prints of various Sikorsky helicopters in circulation, but none are known to depict the aircraft in an inverted position.
The artist has captured the motion of the aircraft by including the smoke trails of the T-64 engines describing the path to the top of the loop. The quality of the print and the detail captured by the original painting is exquisite.It is printed on high quality pebble and fabric embossed medium weight poster paper.
Condition is exceptional, with virtually no flaws and none worthy of mention.
This print is exceedingly rare. This would make a capstone to any collection of Sikorsky prints and photographs.
