This listing comes from the estate of a former Air Force Test Pilot, Wilbur Giesler, who recently passed away at the age of 95 in Spartanburg, SC. Please check out my other listings which include numerous vintage aviation items from this estate.
This is a Vintage Hat w/ the Grumman Aircraft Company Logo and slogan "THE HAPPY HOOKERS". The term "Happy Hookers" refers to the aviators who land jets on aircraft carriers with the tailhook landing system. Reference my other other sale for a similar Grumman "WE LOVE TAIL HOOKERS" hat.Direct from the office of a former USAF test pilot / Pratt & Whitney employee!

Wilbur Giesler became an Air Force pilot in 1949 after earning his wings from pilot training at Vance AFB, OK. He went on to become a test pilot after graduating USAF Experimental Flight Test Pilot School in 1957. He served as a unit commander before retiring from the USAF as a Lt Col in 1969, and then went to work as a civilian for Pratt & Whitney.
