Pin Up art was a very American art form and had its peak during the late 1930s until the 1950s. Magazine covers, calendars, posters, advertising, pictures and even pilots painted pin up girls on their airplanes. Many of the pin ups had a sexy woman and campy sexual innuendo sayings that went along with it. The sexual revolution of the 1960s made many of these prints inappropriate during that time. The art of Pin ups have become appreciated again and are very collectable.
This vintage pin up print was printed in the 1940s. No artist signature. Titled "Smiles" and she sure live up to that. Sexy blond curls with a bold big white hat with black feathers. Measures 16 x 22 inches. Has a fold crease across center, no tears, some slight wear around the edges and corners, nice deep color.
