Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey signed frame collage, 67 Political Letters/cards binder lot
This is a signed letter of Former Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey. The letter was written and signed in 1973 and has been authenticated by JSA. The authentication sticker is on the reverse side of the letter, and the JSA card included. Also included is the original return envelope that was sent in 1973. It is framed atapproximately14x17 inches with a float mat so that you can move around the display however you would like. It is sealed in the back with an envelope to keep the JSA authentication card. The glass is just regular glass as it was a sized frame I had. If you want to change the glass to museum or acrylicwhen you get it, it won't cost must more to have it updated.
Hubert H. Humphrey was the 38th Vice President under Lyndon B. Johnson from January 20, 1965 - January 20, 1969. Also included in this lot are 3 Campaign pins from when Hubert H. Humphrey ran for President with Edward Muskie in the 1968 Presidential election. In that election, Humphrey was defeated by Richard Nixon 301-191. I have also included a White House coin. I'm not sure where the coin comes from or how old it is. I pulled this letter randomly because my family had campaign buttons of Hubert H. Humphrey and I thought it would look nice in a collage. Since it was the only letter I pulled randomly, it passed authentication with JSA.
There are 67 Political Letters, some cards, and photos in this binder from1964-2002. In the binder you will find a document that I typed up that compiles the names, titles, and dates of each political piece included within the binder. Some notable names are Dwight D. Eisenhower, Lyndon B. Johnson, Gerald R. Ford, Ronald Reagan, and Bill and Hillary Clinton. Most of the letters have the date on them and the envelopes have the stamped dates. I find it very interesting to see all the dates included on those letters and envelopes.
I am selling this entire lot as political and historical history only. Not selling this for the autographs that are contained in this binder as I have no idea of the authenticity and don't want to be responsible for if they are real or not. The letters itself are real as you can see in the pictures. I have taken group pictures of all pieces included in the binder. I didn't take picture of every return shipping envelope. Many of the envelopes are on the back or next to the letter in a plastic sheet. I have shown one example in the photos of that.
All letters but one were sent by the same person named Corinne J. McKinlay during her life. This was a binder that was sold to me by someone who sold material from her estate when she died. She lived from March 2, 1907 - November 9, 1997. During her life, she would send letters to prominent political figures such as Presidents, First Ladies, Vice Presidents, Senators, Congressmen, Governors, and many Secretaries.
I tried to do some research on Corinne through ancestry.com. I found out that she was born in Canada, lived in NY, and died in Las Vegas. I was going to spend more time trying to contact the family to find out more information on why she wanted to spend her life sending letters to political figures, but I just don't have the time to commit. Hopefully whomever buys this can continue my work on this binder or enjoy the many years of history writing back and forth to the White House and other locations.
As for shipping, the weight of the blinder, and the fact that the framed glass is so fragile, I don't know the exact shipping on this. I will put a higher number to hopefully protect as best I can.
