USAF Manned Orbital Laboratory MOL Model 1:48 Rare 1960s For Sale

I acquired this a while back and had it displayed with many other eclectic items. I thought it was pretty fun and cool, but I see it's a bit of a piece of history and space, and is under-appreciated in my home. This needs to go to a real collector or fan.

I have done limited research, and it seems these were possibly given to those who were members of the MOL program. I have no idea how many were made.

This item came from the home of a long-retired aeronautical engineer, though I believe he acquired it for his own collection and uncertain if he actually worked on the MOL project.

This item stands about 9" tall and with about 14"x5" footprint. This same model can be found displayed at the Smithsonian museum.

The plaque has a small blemish/pitting, which I have attempted to picture. It needs cleaning, which I will leave up to the buyer. This blemish may be surface grime and possibly removal, but I dont want to mess with it.

There is no maker's mark on the item that I can see.
