This oversize print (28\" x 22\") is extremely rare. It was never recorded by the Library of Congress. It was originally published by E. M. Pottle in 1897 under the auspices of the War Congress Publication Company, Corner of 11th and F Streets, a few blocks from the Capitol. After the end of the war in 1898 it was republished by Isaac Israel with a key to the members represented. That is the version offered for sale here.

All the members of the Congress, the officers of the House, 32 members of the press with their newspapers, and other attendees are all included and coded in the key. The main military leaders of the war are portraited in the margin along with the President (McKinley) and Vice President (Hobart).

The print has been stabilized on acid free art board, but not adhered to it, being held by art corners, and will be shipped flat. NOTE: The photographs were all taken through the protective plastic sleeve which may impact their sharpness.

List of defects. There is a tear in the portrait of George Dewey. A small tear under Commodore Schley. A tear and punch through at General Merrit.
