This is an antique large Japanese ceramic sleeping cat also known as a Nemuri Neko that measures about 9.25 inches long by 3.5 inches high by 4.5 inches wide. It was hand painted with a flower arabesque design, a dark persimmon red collar and gold highlights throughout.

It was made in the Kutani region of Japan by the Takahashi Company of San Francisco. Its condition is very good with no chips, cracks or repairs and its age is from the 1960\'s.
