Arizona Skies Meteorites®authentic, mission flown SR-71 Blackbird Titanium Dog Tag artifact!
This Dog Tag is crafted from a rare, highly desirable, thick piece of exterior titanium from SR-71A \"Super Skater\" (61-7970) showing remnants of the quintessential SR-71 Black coating on the exterior side! This unique piece is thicker than most SR-71 exterior pieces and has beencrafted into a one-of-a-king Dog Tag! The interior side was polished and engraved with a detailed image of the SR-71 Blackbird. We used an original countersunk screw hole for the hole at the topof the dog tag. This aircraft was lost on 17 June 1970 following a post-re-fueling collision with the KC-135Q (59-1474) tanker. Lt. Col. Buddy L. Brown and his RSO Maj. Mortimer J. Jarvis both ejected and survived the crash. The KC-135 made it back to Beale AFB, California with a damaged refueling boom and aft fuselage. The SR-71 (61-7970) \"Super Skater\" crashed in the western Texas desert on non-Federally owned land.
