Rare Vintage JARMAN Shoes Sculptural Cardboard Wood Advertising Display MCM 50s:
$195.00

Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a RARE vintage Jarman shoes / shoe horn advertising display piece. Circa '50s / '60s. Materials: Wood, Cardboard. The item features a three-dimensional butler figure holding a tray that is meant for a shoe horn. There is a wooden side piece which reads "Your Golden Shoe Horn, Sir", and it has the Jarman logo. The butler is constructed out of cardboard, and is sculpturally dimensional in appearance. It's a great collectors item for that vintage advertising fan!
Measurements: Approx. 21.5" tall x 10.75" wide. Theplatform at the bottom of the display where the figure stands is approx. 6" wide x 2.75" deep. The wooden side extension measures approx. 9" wide x 5" tall. The dimensional cardboard figure measures approx. 19" tall x 8.5" wide x 4" deep.
Condition: Fair, presentable vintage condition. This item has cosmetic flaws which we'll make mention of here. First and foremost, the tuxedo portion of the figure is delicate and brittle. There are a few pieces of black cardboard missing on the right side (see photos). Not sure if this can be restored or not. Our next mention is that the arms and the tray are one piece, and they have become detached as one unit at one point in time. There are two round headed pins which hold the entire piece in place (see photos). The pins actually look original to the item and for their intended purpose - it's just that the cardboard decided to separate at one point in time. Lastly, there is some spotting on the face, and just general light discoloration / dust on the cardboard - due to its fragile nature, we have not made any attempts to clean or restore the item ourselves. While this advertising piece is for a shoe horn, there isn't one present. The fact that this survived in any condition is rather surprising! It is being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, we do encourage you to ask them before purchasing as all sales are final. Please offer with confidence.
Due to it being so fragile, we prefer this to be a local pick-up only - we just don't feel it'll travel well if shipped, and we don't want to run the risk of it getting further damaged. Alternately, if you live within 50 miles of St. Louis, we can arrange to deliver the item door-to-door for a nominal fee. Payment is due within two days of the listing ending. Have questions? Please ask them and we will respond back to you in a timely manner. All sales are final - no refunds or returns, unless an item isgrossly misrepresented. Thanks for looking, and please be sure to see our other listings that are presently on . Illinois residents must add 7.35% sales tax. Thank you!
