  • The "ZOOM Airplane Pictures" cards issued with "Zoom Bubble Gum" by Gum Products, Inc. of Cambridge, Massachusetts during 1940 to 1941, is undoubtedly one of the most challenging sets of airplane cards for collectors to acquire. Overall there are 175 images and 775 cards associated with the ZOOM Airplanes series. The ZOOM Airplanes series is divided into three distinct subsets: Series 1 (75 cards, white borders, skip-numbered from 1-100), Series 2 (50 card images, 4 border colors, 200 cards total, skip-numbered from 1-100); w/same aircraft images as used in Series 1, and Series 3 (100 card images, 5 border colors, 500 cards total, numbered from 101-200).
  • Gum Products, Inc. was founded in 1940 by Wellington M. Cramer, Jr. in Boston, Massachusetts, by Cramer borrowing $16,000 as operating capital to start-up. Its candy industry headquarters remained in Boston (804 Main St, Cambridge), Massachusetts, but acquired by the Moxie Monarch DuGrape Company in 1971. The company shut down in 1980. They put out such series as "ZOOM Airplane Pictures" and "Double Play Bubble Gum" baseball cards.
