Incredible European Personal Travel Photo Album Books Circa 1939 (5) - Approximately 319 Total Photos
These five books are numbered "3" through "7" on the outside binding.
The individuals who made these books traveled from Poland to Norway, and then Sweden.
Book #3 starts in Gydnia and then continues in Danzig, Helsinki, and Oslo. The books continue with locations in Norway, and then Sweden in Books #6 and #7.
Photos include people, landmarks, trains, boats, the countryside, cars, trails, churches, villages, homes, factories, a parade, a dancing group, a castle, a mill, and much more. There are a few photos of German military soldiers, flags, and a ship. There are photos of people on vacation, enjoying the sun, friends, and different events.
Nearly every page has a short photo caption. The only year I can find is 1939.
Each book measures approximately 4 5/8" x 6 1/2". The photos are about 3 3/4" x 4 7/8".
Many of the photos have separated from the pages themselves - apparently the adhesive originally used has worn off. For that reason, these same photos have heavy discoloration on the reverse side. There is age discoloration, marks, edge tearing, creasing, and other wear to the book pages, photos, and the books themselves. There is tearing and wear to the outside binding of the books in some cases. The covers of the books have dings, scratches and marks from age and storage. There may be some additional tearing to photos from poor handling. There are some blank pages in the albums as well.
