Graf Zeppelin LZ-127 Fabric Piece Given to the 1st Female Passenger Clara Adams:
$99.99

Hi,I have a piece of history in this item. Read on!
DescriptionOne original Graf Zeppelin LZ-127 fabric piece given to the 1st female passenger on the Graf Zeppelin, by Dr. Hugo Eckener as a souvenir. This piece measures about 1\" X 1\" and is mounted using a stamp mount to a certificate with the information printed on it.
HistoryI will keep this one short...well maybe not so short!!! This is not my first relic like this. I had one several years ago when there were several on the market. I don\'t know how many examples there are, but I do know that the original piece of fabric was several yards across. I don\'t know when Clara Adams gave or sold the piece or pieces away. In 1987, Schmitt Investors Ltd. out of Woodbury New York started selling pieces of the fabric attached to a letter sized certificate. They might have been the ones to cut it up into bite size pieces. I believe they are still in business but possibly under a different name. You can read the information that is printed and typed on the certificate. I took the piece out to examine it. It is consistent with the other example I had. The stamp mount was torn at the bottom, though still intact. I placed the piece back into the mount and secured it (the plastic, not the fabric) with a small piece of tape. It was the best idea I could come up with so the piece doesn\'t move. I searched the internet and couldn\'t find one example for sale. I did see them on several sale sites where they did sell from 2013 through last year. In 2013, one fetched $90.00 and it was all up in the hundreds after that. I found one example for over $300.00. Now, the witness signature is of a Robert Szarek? I am not sure of the last name as it is signed. All of the examples I have seen have the same signature though the dates are different. This seems to be the theme. The handwriting example in the center of the certificate is very distinctive. It looks sort of like my Grand
Father wrote it if you get my drift! People don\'t write like that anymore. So, here is my thoughts....Robert Szarek might still have some pieces for sale. As he sells them, he signs off on them. This would explain the wide range of datesI have seen on the other examples. I can tell you this, the supply of these has dwindled down. I am still conducting more research on it because I am all about knowing more. I will update whoever buys this with any new further developments. I think most collectors rely on peoples honesty when it comes to buying collectables. Not too many conduct in depth research on whatever it is they have. Its easy if you collect coins or baseball cards as they have certifications readily available. It\'s hit and miss on other collectables, especially airship and Zeppelin items. To protect you from purchasing something that isn\'t as I described, I offer this with a LOA that will refund your complete purchase price if the piece is proved to be something else. That is for the life of the original purchaser and cannot be transferred. No gimmicks. You risk nothing!
My price is more than fair. My LOA protects you. It comes with free research updates!
I will ship this for $9.99 anywhere. The certificate and piece of fabric will arrive in an brand new archival safe sleeve and backed by acid free cardstock. In addition, I will be adding many more Zeppelin, Airship and Aviation related photos, postcards and a variety of relics over the next few days, weeks and months. I also have a ton of other items including stamps, supplies, postcards and photos not related to aviation and much more! Check back with me every week to see what I have added. If you have any request, please let me know and I will see what I can do.Please contact me first with any issues.
