Set of 6 Rare Duke University Wedgwood CommemorativePlates - made in England. These transferware plates measure approximately 10 1/2" inches across, and have an ivory backgroundwith mulberry underglaze images. The plates have a raised scrollwork border, with centralimages featuring various historic buildings and scenes on the Duke University campus.The backs of the plates carry the name of each building or view depicted, along with the manufacturer'smark: "Duke University Plates -- Wedgwood Of Etruria & Barlaston - Made in England -- Sole Importers - Jones, McDuffee & Stratton Co. - Boston". The Wedgwood impression/incision is also present.

These plates are in excellent condition. No chips, cracks, stains, marks or repairs on any of these plates. A few of these plates have some very fine, light crazing which is barely noticeable.
