Awesome old industrial advertising cigar ashtray with a miniature replica of a diesel engine on top made for the Detroit Diesel corporation of Michigan in the early to mid-20th century.
This extra-large and extra heavyweight ashtray is cast in bronze. The bowl has two cigar holders and three narrower cigarette holders in the front. The back of the bowl is embossed "DETROIT DIESEL" inside its round corporate logo. On the top of the ashtray is a large bronzed metal replica of a Diesel engine. The back has a round opening that might have been used as a cigar snuffer.
It measures just over 5" tall by 8.5" wide by 8.5" deep, and weighs 7 lbs!
