C47 Dakota CDkitrepresents a WW2 1947 C47 re-built as DC3. These first commercial planes added Sperry A3A auto-pilot, and call light and switch for hostess. Those used in mountainous areas retained jump master radar altitude.
USAF Special Ops flew similar AC47 over Vietnam. These were completely rebuilt using three 7.62mm miniguns. In 2018, approximately 400 DC3s/C47s are still flying – 80 years after first flown.
