Here is a profile of the famous Boeing B-29 "Superfortress." Delmar Stevens flew this bomber on the first missions in China and over Japan. This is a great print for young boys rooms. Enjoy the story under the artwork. My artworks make great gifts!Print size is 12x18" and is published on heavy duty museum paper. Each print is signed by Delmar with a graphic pencil. Delmar went through a lot and was lucky to have survived. The Air Corp lost hundreds of B-29 Bombers before the war ended.
Delmar was originally trained in the B-17 when they asked him if he wanted to do something different. Delmar was a young man with the war going so he was going to fly a bomber. These men were brave. Delmar volunteered for a New Program. He told me that he was blown away when they took him and the other pilots in the program out to see the B-29 for the first time. The airplane was HUGE! Delmar was impressed.
Delmar gladly went to war in a brand-new American bomber. The Boeing B-29. He did not want to fly the bomber in the Korean war because the North Koreans had the new Mig-15 fighter jet that could chase down the bombers.I was so lucky to have worked with Delmar on this print to honor his service to America.Enjoy his story under the artwork.
