Fantastic lot of original 1910’s West New York, NJ Amateur Baseballplayer and team photographs; with players Identified in the various handwrittencaptions. The Lebanons / West New Yorks were a neighborhood LutheranLeague amateur team. The associated newspaper clippings provide moreinformation and player detail. These images are a fantastic window into thepast; and great New York / New Jersey baseball history.
The group consists of 1 RPPC and 8 snapshot photos. Thephotos are mounted (Front/Back) on three pieces of black scrapbook pages. One duplicateteam snapshot photo is loose. My main overview photo is created by combiningall the front scans to show all photos in one image. The individual pages withfront/back photos are listed below:
1915 Lebanons Team Photo with handwritten caption of playerID’s on front; a Walter Ungerer Pitching photo on reverse. Whole page measuresapprox. 4 ½” x 6 ½”.
1915 Lebanons Champions E.L.B.B.L. of N.H [North Hudson].team photo on front (with player IDs); the reverse of this page is blank.
1 loose Lebanons team snapshot (3 ½” x 5”). This is a duplicateimage of the Champions of E.L.B.B.L ID’d photograph.
1916 West New Yorks Team Photo RPPC mounted on a portion of scrapbookpage; 4 snapshot photos of Lebanon’s team on the reverse of that page; withassociated player ID captions.
I do not know why the Lebanon’s photos are referred to asthe E.L.B.B.L. of N.H. – These are New York ball players, as evidenced by the associatednewspaper clipping
This small photo archive is all that remains of the originalscrapbook. I do not have any more information or additional pages, unfortunately.
Blue watermarks are a digital creation and not on thephysical items.
