Vintage Sacred Heart Of Jesus by W. Ebbinghaus/Lg#10302 Vintage Huge 'Sacred Heart Of Jesus' Lithograph by Wilhelm Ebbinghaus/35” x 45”Wilhelm August Emil Ebbinghaus (1864 – 1951) - German artist, who was well known for his biblical work. Vintage Huge 'Sacred Heart Of Jesus' Lithograph(I don’t think it is an Oiliograph or oleograph, [A chromolithograph printed with oil paint on canvas or cloth, in imitation of an oil painting], although it appears to be on textured paper or paper board) in Wood Frame Behind Glass by Wilhelm Ebbinghaus / 29” x 39” I read that the original hangs in the Vatican.This is a very large old print of the “Sacred Heart of Jesus,” done by Wilhelm Ebbinghaus. I am not sure how old it is, but he copyrighted the image, August 24, 1937, 77 years ago, whether it is older or newer than that, I don’t know. I would have guessed it was older, but I can see the frame is newer than 1937. His signature and date, “W. Ebbinghaus, ‘95,” is in the plate, in the bottom left corner. The only other one of these prints I was able to find was in Germany, and I read that the original hangs in the Vatican. I believe it is printed on textured paper or paperboard, and is framed in wood, behind glass. The back is 90% covered, with a photo of the corner that is open, below the description. The glass is old looking. Measuring from the outside of the frame, the picture is about 35 inches wide and about 45.25 tall. Measuring inside the frame it is about 29” wide and 39” tall. There are several creases and surface imperfections on the print, and a number of chips to the edges of the frame, (look at the photos) which you could restore or get restored. There are some reflections in the photos, a white window frame at the left side most notable. It is being sold as photographed, with NO RETURNS.
