This is the last B-8 I have, and in my opinion, the best of the lot. Similar to the two I recently sold, from the same Vietnam vet. This one has all red buttons with solid action on all buttons and the trigger. I appreciate those who have served our country in the Armed Forces. With that in mind I donate 10% or more of every vintage military item I sell to a charity that benefits veterans and I encourage my fellow sellers to do the same. Thank you all so very much for your service.
This is a fixed price, seven day listing. If it doesn\'t sell, it goes back in the deep freeze (my garage) for awhile.
The iconic B-8 flight grip used in many combat aircraft. According to the veteran I got this from, it was rotated out of an F-4 Phantom in the late 1960\'s. This one is a little less beat up then the last two I sold, but it still has the battle scars. If you are looking for nice and shiny, there are plenty to be found. If you want the real deal, used for it\'s intended purpose, this grip might be for you. Wrap your hand around the grip and hold hands with the Air Force pilot that flew his plane into harms way. Just like the last two, this one gives me chills every time I grasp it and click the buttons. Seriously.
Edit: Although I love the story above, and this grip was given to me with that information, I am informed by an user that this stick was probably not out of an F-4. \"The F-4 does not have the palm rest on the right side of the grip due to the Martin-Baker ejection seat having leg restraints that pull inwards the aircrew legs on ejection. This palm rest would injure the aircrews knees when leaving the aircraft.\"The Guardian B-8 Grip is the most popular control grip in aviation. The B-8 has seen action in fixed wing aircraft such as the A-10, F-4, and rotary-wing aircraft manufactured in the United States and abroad. The single-piece molded design gives the B-8 control grip exceptional strength, while allowing for simplified switch replacement. Single-piece construction, molded from high-strength cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB) engineered polymer. Weighs in at 1lb 5oz (600 grams). All buttons function and click as intended.
Carefully packed, fast ship.
