Post WW2 Smithsonian Photo of Grumman F8F Bearcat Aboard Aircraft Carrier For Sale

The stamp reads "Reproduction or resale prohibited without written permission Smithsonian Institution Washington D.C. 2056? Negative ###" (They are referring to reprints, this is an original photo from them)

Also a sticker with F8F (2), and a number 83-9233 on the back. These were used for a publication so not sure of the meaning of these. I do not believe the (2) is part of the model number.

Wooden deck, could be Midway or a Midway class carrier. They were retired in 1952, but there are no markings on the plane and given this is a Smithsonian photograph, this is likely an early photo or important event in the history of the plane.
