Orville Tsinnie - Rare Vintage Curved Brass Hand Chiseled Bracelet Cuff Sz 6.5" For Sale

This rare brass bracelet cuff has been beautifully crafted by master Navajo silversmith Orville Tsinnie. The cuff has a unique curved shape with hand chisel work at the front and the two ends. The size is 5 3/4" around the inside with an additional 3/4" opening at the back for a total of 6 1/2" around. The cuff is 1 3/4" wide at the front. It weighs 92 grams. It is signed with Orville's hallmark and is in great vintage condition.

Award winning Navajo artist Orville Tsinnie learned to make jewelry from his Hopi brother-in-law in the early 1970s. During his career he won numerous awards, including a Lifetime Achievement award from the Indian Arts and Crafts Association, an honor award that is only given to the finest American Indian artists. Tsinnie's work was characterized by superior craftsmanship. He made traditional jewelry but excelled with new designs. All his work was clearly made with precision and attention to detail, which resulted in work that was uniquely his own. He worked out of his studio in Shiprock, New Mexico, and was a yearly participant in Santa Fe's annual Indian Market.
