This early USAF program that predates both the Apollo moon landing and subsequent Space Shuttle program provided valuable data on the design of future technologies. The program was so successful that it ended after the third successful test flight on April 19, 1967.
Up for sale is this amazing memory of the end of this program. This 27 3/4\" x 23 3/4\" framed photo of the X-23 Prime is bordered by a mat signed by 47 members of the SV-5D team. Most likely this was a presentation piece given to the project lead at the end of the program in 1967.
The original X-23 photo is faded from age and the mat has wear but the team autographs are almost all still vibrant and clear. The entire piece is in the original frame from 1967.
This is an incredible piece of 1960\'s US space program history and easily one of a kind.
