Two original company brochures, issued by HawkerAircraft LTD, the civil aviation division of Hawker Siddeley Aircraft Company,to advertise their Hawker Fury series of single-engine fighter airplanes, circa1947, of which 864 were produced . The prototype Hawker Fury first flew on 1 September1944, and was introduced to service in 1947. Quite rare, as these brochureswere produced to attempt to entice foreign governments to purchase the Fury,which was one of the final single piston-engined fighters to be produced, and alsoone of the fastest. In the end, besides the RAF and the Royal Navy, Hawker foundjust nine other international clients, including the governments of Australia,Burma, Canada, Cuba, Egypt, West Germany, Iraq, Netherlands and Pakistan.
