The Boeing 747-400 was an upgraded version of the 747-300 with more powerful engines and greater range. It also incorporated a glass flight deck, enabling the aircraft to be flown by a crew of two, versus a crew of three on earlier models. A total of 694 were manufactured in various versions. The last 747-400 was delivered in 2005. Only a few remain flying today in the freighter configuration.
Northwest Airlines was a major United States airlines founded in 1926. The airline was headquartered in Eagan, Minnesota. It flew under the Northwest name until it was merged with Delta Airlines. The merger was approved on 29 October, 2008. Northwest had a total of 16 Boeing 747-400's in service. The 747-400 was first delivered to Northwest Airlines. They were the first airline to use the 747-400 for passenger service.
This reproduction of the 747-451 with registration number N672US took it's maiden flight on July 08, 1999. It was delivered to Northwest on July 19, 1999. It flew under Northwest colors until October of 2008, when it changed livery to Delta Airlines after the Northwest / Delta merger, where it flew until Delta retired it's 747's. It is currently in storage.
This 1:150 reproduction of the Northwest Boeing 747-451 is a very rare, highly detailed, heavy solid resin model. It requires only minimal assembly. It has beautiful, last Northwest Airlines graphics. The model is new. The model measures an impressive 18.75" long with a 17.00" wingspan. It also has a unique feature in that by depressing a switch under the fuselage near the tail, the interior lights illuminate (see photographs). The small battery inside can be re-charge using an Android charging cable. All sales are final. Shipping to USA only. NOTE:I do not know the aircraft manufacturer. There are no markings on the box or the aircraft itself. This will be an excellent addition to any Northwest collector or any aviation enthusiast's collection. This is the only one available.
