This item is identical to the original flight control test panel used in the first flight B-2 AV-1 test aircraft. The only difference is it did not go through the flight justification testing of vibration, shake and bake to qualify for installation for flight test. The panel was used in the Northrop B-2 iron bird test facility. The iron bird was a full scale test facility with a full set of B-2 flight control system components including hydraulic actuation. It was integral to B-2 development and critical to attaining airworthiness approval for flight test. The purpose of this panel was to provide digital inputs to the B-2 digital fly by wire flight control system in order to attain flight test data in support of both envelope expansion for flying qualities, handling qualities and flutter clearance. The size of the device was set by the requirement to fit in one of slots otherwise used for one of the vehicle's liquid crystal display units. This is a one of a kind piece of history, I do not believe the flight test panel still exists - but I don't have provenance to prove that. The unit comes with the original packaging from when it left the Northrop B-2 facility in Pico Rivera, CA. Additional information provided upon request. For sale, only with in the United States.
