Aviation Ruth LAW Rare ORIGINAL flying PHOTO w airplane Daytona female aviator:
$34500.00

In excellent condition, this is an original photograph with he photographer\'s embossed logo on the print. I purchased this photo, as is. Someone mounted it to this grey cardboard and they wrote the words on the back. The Watermark is, of course, NOT on the original photo. Photo measures 6-1/16\" x 8-1/16\". The color tone is sepia like. The only blemishes I see are two tiny marks in the sky area middle left. Photographer\'s embossed logo is \"C.G. Smith Daytona Beach Fla.\"
This is NOT RETURNABLE for one reason, I hope it will be sold to a collector or museum. I do NOT want it returned to me after someone has decided to copy the image and resell copies. I would prefer to deliver by way of local pick up and I am happy to meet you to show the item before you offer. Item located in St. Augustine, Florida. My shipper will not insure an item of this value, that is why I encourage local pick up. IF the buyer wants to arrange for shipping and his/her own insurance, we can discuss that option, also. Again, NO RETURNS on this item.
Researching the Saturdays in the early 1900\'s, I assume the date of this photo to be 1914. That date matches the timeline of when Ruth Law was hired by a local hotel to do aerial shows in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Email me with any questions.
Ruth Bancroft Law (1887-1970) was an eary aviation pioneer. She was the first woman to loop the loop, first to make a night flight and first woman authorized to wear a military uniform. She was, however, denied permission to fly combat missions during WWI. She obtained her license in 1912 and retired ten years later at her husband, Charles Oliver\'s request. I believe this airplane is the Wright Model B. She later owned a Curtiss Pusher with Wright Brothers control levers.
