1948 WORLD AIRWAYS First Officer Wing 1st Issue (Silver Bullion on Wool - Nice) For Sale

Offered is an original, and rare, World Airways First Officer Wing, 1st Issue. These were used from 1948 (the beginning of World Airlines) to well into the 1950\'s. These were handmade with real silver bullion and tinsel threads sewn onto two pieces of wool felt. The center emblem is enameled. Each of these wings were unique with slight variations as they were all handmade. Wing measures 3-9/16\" in diameter and it is complete with both pin posts and the fasteners to each. I will not hesitate to say that this wing is in very nice condition showing only very minor evidence of use/wear. These were fragile wings and to find one in such nice condition is a rarity, let alone even finding one at all! You will get the wing that you see, please study the pictures as they serve as the description and nothing is intentionally being hidden.
