| FS2004 AI Package: RNZAF AI Package 2 - Ohakea Mike
MacIntyre started the whole train of thought with his excellent Otis
AFB package.This features USAF Thunderbirds doing show routines,
complete with smoke, flyby's and crossovers.With Mike's permission,
I drew heavily on his files to do something similar, and perhaps add
a bit, at Ohakea. Much appreciated.I also got a bit of help over at
the PAI Forums, a goldmine of AI information and great
expertise.Deane Baunton stripped out bits of his FS2000 Ohakea
airbase scenery to fit better with FS9. This is the included scenery.

| FS2004 Scenery USS John Glenn The USS John Glenn is making it's
first "Port o' Call" in Tahiti. 100% solid deck. Added MEATBALL VASI:
TCRV at "PORT AMIDSHIP". Complete CL-III ILS/NAV system. Included is
the "Carrier Zone" data for the "Cat's" and the "Trap". Planner
Airport ID: "GLEN". Located in Tahiti Bay, French Polynesia. Use MAP
for Nav. Info. Flight plan capable using ILS, VFR, & GPS. 100%
functional COMM's. ArresterCables.dat file for FS9 included. Add
zones to master dsd_arrester_zones.ini & dsd_catapult_zones.ini.
These files came with RCBCO-20 installed pack and are located in
FS9/Gauges. MAKE SURE arrester is in arrestor.ini ans XX is changed
to next number, same with catapult zones! Set carrier in use gauge
top right main panel (RED TEXT) is set for carrier to land on to

| El Centro Naval Air Station KNJK Excerpt from
WWW.GlobalSecurity.Org Naval Air Facility El Centro was commissioned
on May 1st 1946, as a Naval Air Station. Before this, the base was a
Marine Corps Air Station. Through the years, Navy El Centro had
several names: Naval Air Facility, Naval Auxiliary Landing Field,
Naval Air Station, and the National Parachute Test Range. Today, NAF
El Centro, under the command of Commander, Navy Region Southwest,
provides realistic training to aviation units and activities of the
Navys operating and training forces. Aviation squadrons visit NAF El
Centro to practice gunnery, bombing, carrier landings and air combat.
The facility has two operating runways. The 9,500-foot east/west
runway handles 96% of the traffic. It is equipped with a Fresnel
Lens Optical Landing System at each approach end as well as lighted
carrier deck landing areas at both ends so pilots can simulate ship
landings. Apart from touch and go landings and take-offs, aircrews
utilize the many ranges at NAF El Centro to develop their skills. A
remotely controlled target area allows naval aviators to practice
ordnance delivery. The desert range is used for air-to-ground
bombing, rocket firing, strafing, dummy drops and mobile land target
training. The target complex uses the Weapons Impact Scoring System
that microwaves imaging to a range master control building. |
