FS98/FS2000 Boeing 707-138B “City of Darwin” of QANTAS

This model depicts VH-EBH “City of Darwin”, one of the 707-138Bs purchased newb707138b during the upgrade of the original 138s in the Qantas fleet during 1961. The Pratt & Whitney JT3C-6 engines were replaced with more efficient and powerful JT3D-1 turbofan engines. The vertical stabiliser was enlarged by 3 feet, a ventral fin added, and leading edge flaps fitted. With the improved performance, refuelling stops could be reduced and the strip on Canton Is was not required.
